May Memorial Service

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22
6 PM, RECEPTION IN PARLOR
7 PM, SERVICE IN CHAPEL

Each year, the Month of May brings us Memorial Day. On this federal holiday many people across the nation choose to visit cemeteries and memorials to present gifts and remembrances that honor and celebrate the lives of their loved ones who have joined God’s heavenly kingdom - especially those who have died serving in the United States Armed Forces.

In the same manner, Second Presbyterian Church faithfully presents a Memorial Service in Milner Chapel. At this service, the clergy staff and the board of deacons lead a time of worship that offers a space for reflection, remembrance, and celebration for the lives of those beloved people who have passed away, whether during the previous year, or in years prior.

This year, the May Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday May 22 at 7 p.m. You are also invited join us prior to the worship service at 6 p.m. in the parlor for an informal time to share refreshments and conversation together. Immediately following the worship service, the community of faith is invited to gather together outside to plant a tree that commemorates the memories and love of the saints that now reside in God’s heavenly kingdom.

It is our deepest hope that you will encounter God’s gentle embrace, and the love and support that this community of faith will offer at the May Memorial Service this year.
