New Day for Families of Divorce


New Day is a caring program to help children and their parent as they move through the challenges of divorce. New Day welcomes families with children from age 3 through 8th grade, whose parents have divorced.

The evening begins with a meal before the children participate in age-appropriate groups. In their group time, the children discuss the evening topic, spend time in the Volcano Room (Large Muscle Activity) before moving to the Whisper Room (Arts Expression). While the children are in their group, parents learn about ways to help their children and themselves manage the challenges of life as a divorced family before moving into small groups where parents can share their challenges and support each other in their journey. At the end of the evening, the children and parents gather in a closing circle and share the New Day prayer.

New Day meets the second and fourth Tuesday evenings from September through May. New Day is free to the family, and donations are welcome. For more information about participating or volunteering, please visit www.NewDayIndy.org.
