An Evening with Carrie Newcomer

Songwriter, recording artist, performer, educator and activist, Carrie Newcomer comes to Second on Thursday, May 11 presenting a concert with Second’s own Sanctuary Choir, under the direction of Dr. Michelle Louer. Newcomer has 19 nationally released albums and three books of poetry and essays, A Permeable Life: Poems and Essays, The Beautiful Not Yet: Poems and Essays & Lyrics, and Until Now: New Poems. Her song, “I Should’ve Known Better” appeared on Nickel Creek’s Grammy-winning gold album This Side, and she earned an Emmy for her PBS special, An Evening with Carrie Newcomer.
The Sanctuary Choir joins Carrie Newcomer for a specially commissioned arrangement of Betty’s Diner. Ticket Information to be announced soon.
