What an exciting time this is for you as you prepare to finish high school and move on to the next set of adventures life has in store for you. During your senior year, deep questions will continue to present themselves in new ways. Faith will likely be a part of that discussion.

We have planned Footsteps of Faith as a time in which we can investigate our questions together honestly through the lens of faith and theology, and our setting. This experience will challenge and change all of us as we think deeply about life and faith together. This journey is led by the Senior Lake Fellows, Rev. Rachel Klompmaker and Rev. Ben Davison, as well as the youth ministries staff, but is mostly dependent on your engagement.

Footsteps is a journey. We will journey through the whole story of God in Scripture, exploring the full scope of the biblical narrative, from creation through the early Christian church. From there, we will take a trek through the life of the early church, exploring the acts and writings of the apostles, and engaging with the various sites and locations where they lived and engaged in ministry. In these sources, we hear the earliest stories of the Christian faith and experience our own lives echoed in the voices of these faithful witnesses.

Our Footsteps journey will culminate with a trip to Greece, Ephesus in Turkey, and Rome to walk in the footsteps of the apostles in early June 2024.

The entire Footsteps journey has the potential to be truly transformative for all of us. We look forward to what each of us will discover about ourselves, one another, and God. The journey will entail Sunday morning gatherings, special group outings, reflections, and attendance/participation in worship at Second. We are really excited about the group and hope you will participate.

Registration for Footsteps of Faith is available online each year no later than August 1. We appreciate your honesty and thoughtfulness as you register. The registration is designed to give the leaders a better understanding of why you want to participate and what you hope to gain from this experience. Registration will be due September 5.
