Bible Studies and Small Groups

Many small groups of women meet on a regular basis to nurture faith through prayer, study, service and fellowship. There are groups for all interests and ages.  Some groups meet regularly during the weekdays; others meet in the evening. Still others meet on an “as-needed” basis. Purpose: A detailed, compehensive study of the Bible to promote a deeper understanding of scripture and how it applies to our everyday lives.

Twice each month, amateurs and professionals from the Second Church community come together for fellowship and artistic expression in any media. The group shares conversation, exchanges ideas, offers constructive critiquing if desired, and explores various art media with those who have knowledge of such. It is open to anyone who wants to learn or just paint, draw or talk about art.

Purpose: Provide women of all ages with a welcoming place to explore God's Word and its meaning in our lives.

Fall 2017 – A new study begins September 20 - #Struggles, Following Jesus in a Selfie-Centered World

As you can guess, social media will be a focus, but there are many elements we can talk through that apply to all of our faith journeys even if social media is not a part of your daily life.

Author Craig Groeschel says these five sessions will help reveal "how we can rediscover our understanding of the biblical principles life with Christ brings -contentment, intimacy, authenticity, compassion and rest - and put God first in our social media saturated world."

Each of the five sessions features a ten minute video to begin our week's study. There are $5 study guides that I will have available. (There is also a full book by the same title that you may want to purchase on your own.)


After this study we will return to a traditional Bible study that will focus on Philippians. (Approximately October 25)


Please join us any and all Wednesdays that you are able! As always, feel free to come early to chat and catch up. We will begin the video/study right at 6:45 and go until 8 PM. We gather in room 240. (PW room)


This is such a great time (and topic) to invite new ladies to join us! Remember all women are welcome - no matter if they attend Second or not. Our prayer is to be an inter-generational group encouraging each other onward in our life with Christ!
