Wednesday Series:
Falling Upward & Rising Strong

Wednesdays, 5:30-7 PM

Rev. Bob Hunter of CenterPoint Counseling leads this eight-week series. Two books will guide exploration: Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Second Half of Life by Richard Rohr and Rising Strong: How the Ability to Reset Transforms Our Ability to Live, Love, Parent and Lead by Brene Brown.

Whatever you’re up against, you need not face it alone.

“Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget about that perfect offering. There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in!” – Leonard Cohen.

These lyrics express the deep and transformative truth at the heart of the Judeo-Christian faith.

  • It is at the broken places in our lives where we encounter the One who provides a way forward.
  • Where there seems to be no way, God meets us and provides a way.
  • It is into the darkness that the light shines.
  • Out of the wilderness God calls each of us to a life of purpose and blessing.

Join us from 5:30 to 7 p.m. from Wednesday, September 7 through October 26 (8 weeks).*

Simply commit to entering a safe and sacred space with others who seek to rise above the hurt, harm, hatreds and unfairness of life as we know it; we will journey together toward hope. Bring your questions, an open heart, and we will search together for the freedom to learn from our own stories, and those of others, where and how the light gets in.

Cost: $25/session ($150 paid in advance)
Please contact Rev. Robert Hunter to register. Scholarships may be available upon request.

Sponsored by CenterPoint Counseling at Second Presbyterian Church.

*On Wednesday, October 6, the class will attend a lecture by renowned apartheid activist Michael Lapsley.
