MULTIFAITH HABITAT BUILD
November 1, 8 AM – 2 PM
This build brings together different faith communities throughout our city to volunteer together to build all the panels for two homes in one day.
A “panel build” is a sponsored event where Habitat for Humanity brings the construction site to Second. Habitat supplies the building materials, tools, safety equipment, and professional supervision. Our faith communities provide the space and volunteers. The Habitat homeowner-in-training will participate in the panel build, working alongside the volunteers who can witness firsthand the impact of the build on the homeowner and the community.
We will have two shifts: the first shift check in starts at 8:00 AM and the second shift check in will start at 10:00 AM. Between the two shifts, we will have a brunch with a speaker, fellowship, and a group picture with both shifts included.
We are asking for volunteers to build, greet, provide hospitality, and volunteer with new friends from other faith groups as we respond to housing instability issues within our community. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and no construction skills are needed to participate! The Habitat construction team will instruct and supervise – and make sure everyone is having fun!
