Are you, or somone you know in need of food assistance? The volunteers of Northside Food Pantry welcome you. Come visit us during our shopping hours up to two times per month. We hope you find the Northside Food Pantry to be hospitable, safe, and a good source for a well-balanced diet.

Northside Food Pantry is located on the north side of Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis.


Each client must be a resident of Washington Township, living in ZIP Codes 46220, 46228, 46240, 46250, 46260 or North of 38th Street in 46205 or 46208.

What to Bring for the First Visit

Two items showing your mailing address, such as photo ID and a bill or business mail (dated within 30 days.)

Shopping Hours

Northside Food Pantry is open three days a week:
Tuesdays, 12:30-3 p.m.
Wednesdays, 4-6:30 p.m.
Saturdays, 10 a.m.-Noon

Pantry Volunteer Opportunities

We encourage you to consider all volunteer opportunities described below and then sign up online.

Pantry Greeter - This job requires both standing and sitting as you welcome, register and engage in friendly interaction with food pantry clients.

Client Liason - This job requires friendly interaction with food pantry clients and re-stocking of shelves as needed. Plan to be on your feet 3-4 hours. For your first time, please sign up as a Client Liaison Trainee.

Once you feel comfortable with the job, you can sign up for one of the regular client liaison spots.

Data Entry - This job requires special training and is a sit-down job. It involves the use of a computer, the ability to multi-task and friendly interaction with food pantry clients.

Data Entry Assistant - This job involves tallying of shopping lists throughout the shift and a final tally at the end of the shift. This is a sit-down job with minimal client interaction. You will receive on-the-job training the first time you work.

Food Delivery Processing - This job involves unpacking, sorting and storing food from our various vendors. Food delivery takes place when the pantry is closed to the public. This is a behind-the-scenes job with no food pantry client interaction. You will receive on-the-job training.

Please schedule two on-the-job training sessions prior to working alone.
