Hymn 603: The Song of Simeon is a paraphrase by Father James Quinn (b. 1919) of the Nunc Dimittis (Luke 2:29-32). It appeared in a collection of 100 hymns, New Hymns for All Seasons (1969), some of which are translations while the rest are original to him. Quinn is a Jesuit Priest from Scotland and author of three other hymns in our hymnal.
