Arise and Come Away

Last Sunday we heard a beautiful duet by J.S. Bach continuing the theme of God's transformative grace – thank you Blake and Shannon Beckemeyer and violinist Sarah Cranor! Erin Benedict also shared her gifts in last week’s hymns – we are grateful! This Sunday, reflective of God’s call to arise and start afresh, soloist Caitlin Stewart will sing Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One by Healy Willan. Be sure to tune in at 11:00!

Last Sunday afternoon, 50 students joined our family of faith in an outdoor Confirmation ceremony. During the event, each student was recognized with a Bible verse chosen just for them, as families watched from a safe distance in the north parking lot. Rather than the traditional laying on of hands, Second Elders encircled the parking lot and raised their hands in blessing. The moving ceremony marks an important passage for these Confirmands and the beginning of a new journey.
