WELCOME TO VIRTUAL VBS!
June 22-26, 2020

It's our favorite week of the summer! We'll see you this Saturday from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. for a "Pick-Up Parade" at Second. We hand you your VBS info packet with t-shirt and CD, and you can drop off donations for Northside Food Pantry. (Click here for the list of suggested donations.)

Next week our young friends will enjoy a week of fun with Zoom gatherings, Bibleland stories, music, art, games, and special messages from some familiar people at Second. Visit SecondChurch.org/VBS for details and to sign up. It's free!

HONORING JUNETEENTH

Tomorrow marks a presbytery-wide day of Mourning and Remembrance.  As designated by the Coordinating Council of Whitewater Valley Presbytery, June 19 will be honored as a day mourning for the lives that have been lost to racial injustice, of remembrance of the suffering that racial bias has caused, and of committing ourselves to a better future. We invite you into a time of prayer using this liturgy prepared by the pastors of Second. As Rev. Chris Henry preached in his June 7 sermon, may we listen, lament, repent, and witness.

AV MINISTRY AT WORK

For nearly a decade (!) our AV team has helped carry Sunday worship from the sanctuary out into the world. They have persevered through great growth, with plenty of technical twists and turns – including over recent Sundays, and we apologize! Exciting new steps are already underway – from new investments to new resources – to help propel this ministry forward and advance the power of worship. As we move through this process, our 11:00 online worship will still be carried on Facebook Live and SecondChurch.org/Live, with worship fully recorded and available on YouTube, Facebook, and at SecondChurch.org/Watch beginning Sunday afternoons. Thank you for your grace and patience as we turn this page!

LOVE!

Have you seen the story of Joyce and Don?! Grandparents of Melynne Klaus (elder at Second!), Joyce and Don have been carried on airwaves across America this week – national evening news and affiliates from New York to L.A. – with a love story for the ages! Watch this beautiful witness of faith, hope, and love!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR CHURCH!

We are grateful to the Session of Elders Class of 2020 who are completing their three-year term. These "Ruling Elders" are entrusted with the spiritual government of the church. They are elected by the congregation and ordained for life. You will always shine brightly in our hearts!
