Dr. Richard L. Baker, our Theologian in Residence, will be ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament by a Commission of Whitewater Valley Presbytery this evening at Second@Six in the sanctuary. Dr. Tom Currie, Professor of Theology and Dean of Union-PSCE Seminary in Charlotte, will be the guest preacher. Following the service, there will be a casual dinner honoring Richard in the Community Room. You are cordially invited to attend this special service and dinner reception. Reservations are not required for the dinner.

The annual meeting for the Interfaith Alliance Indianapolis (IAI) will be a catered dinner in the Community Room here at Second Church at 6 p.m. on July 2. Charlie Wiles of the Peace Learning Center, who organized an historic June, 2008 interfaith peace mission to the Middle East, along with Rabbi Weiss, Imam Michael Saahir, Revs. David Berry and Stacy Smith will report on their experiences and opportunities for interfaith dialogue during a panel discussion after dinner. 2008 Habitat for Humanities Build: Volunteer sign-ups will begin on Sunday, July 6 in McFarland Hall. This year’s fund raising commitment to Habitat for Humanity will be $70,000. No prior construction experience is required to participate in this great project.
